Newborns change quickly, and I’m here to capture all the precious details of your baby’s first days. From tiny fingers and sweet expressions to the beautiful family bond, my newborn photography sessions in Chilliwack, Abbotsford, and the Fraser Valley focus on preserving these moments before they pass. Held in my Chilliwack home studio, each session lasts 2-4 hours, ideal for newborns 5-14 days old. With access to a variety of props and accessories, I provide a customized experience.

Chilliwack Newborn Photography Process and Pricing

Step 1: The Session Fee

$300

Full payment of the session fee is required to secure your newborn photography booking. Booking fees are non-refundable.

The Session fee includes:

Planning appointment with personalized styling
Use of my client wardrobe collection and props
Portrait session in-studio or on-location
The editing and enhancing of your purchased images
Post-session viewing and ordering appointment to choose your final artwork
Gallery wall installation at your home for custom wall art

All artwork and digital images are purchased separately from your session fee. Packages start at $650, including a wall art piece and digital images of your choice.

Step 2: Consultation

This is a time for us to get to know each other and dream up custom newborn portraits made just for you. The consultation answers ALL your questions, from what to wear, to how images will be displayed in your home, color design, location planning, and the look and feel of the session. We will discuss all the specifics, and you will handle samples in person, so you see what types of artwork fit best into your lifestyle and home.

Step 3: The Session

The day has finally arrived for your newborn photography session, and it's a time to cherish the precious moments with your newest family member. During your newborn photo session, I'll gently guide your baby through the process, offering carefully curated poses and candid moments to capture both stylish and authentic images. It's a special opportunity to bond with your little one, cuddle, and create heartwarming memories as a family. So, sit back, relax, and entrust me with the task of ensuring that every detail is beautifully preserved for you to cherish for years to come.

Step 4: Choosing Images and Products

After your images are prepared, we will meet for your viewing and ordering session. We'll watch a slideshow (tissues provided;), and then you’ll select your favourite images. Together, we’ll design heirloom artwork using state-of-the-art software to display your portraits, scaled to fit your home’s walls. With photos of your spaces, I’ll help you visualize how the artwork will look. Throughout the process, I’ll guide you, using the goals from our consultation to bring your vision to life.

Step 5: Product Creation and Delivery

Your frames, albums and prints are created to the highest standard, ensuring lasting quality. All albums come with two revisions to ensure the layout is perfect for your family.

Once created we arrange to-the-door delivery of your beautiful products. And if you need help with hanging items - I can even do that too!

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time to have newborn photos?: The ideal time for a newborn photography session is within the first 4-7 days, while your baby is still in the sleepy, cute curled up stage. After two weeks of age, babies tend to be more alert and it's harder to pose into those classic newborn positions. However, if your baby is already a bit older, don’t worry! I can still capture beautiful portraits at any age. Please contact me as soon as possible and I will try and fit you in.
How long is a newborn session?: Newborn portrait sessions are around 2-4 hours. I don't give a limit to the amount of time as every baby is different. I give lots of time for snuggles, feedings and rocking.
How warm is the newborn studio?: The studio will be kept at about 30 degrees C to keep your newborn warm while being photographed. I recommend dressing in layers.
Do you take family portraits with the newborn?: Yes, I encourage parents and siblings to be part of the newborn photography session. These family portraits are typically done at the beginning of the session, especially if you have young children. It’s a great opportunity to capture those first precious moments as a family with your newest member.
What if my baby comes early or late?: Not to worry, I only book a limited amount of newborn sessions per month to allow for flexibility in my schedule. Baby's rarely come on their due dates! Once your baby arrives, contact me to firm up your newborn portrait session date and time.
Do I need to buy any special clothing for myself or my baby?: When you book with me, I will send you a newborn session preparation guide with lots of information including what to wear for your whole family. Your baby will either be wrapped or nude during their session. I provide all outfits, wraps, hats and headbands, so not to worry.
Do you use props for newborn poses?: My Chilliwack newborn studio is well stocked with everything that we will need. I have outfits, wraps, headbands, hats, blankets, backdrops, buckets and lots of specialized props. I am happy to incorporate any creative ideas that you may have.
What happens after my session?: After your session, I will get right to work culling your images. We will meet back up in about 2 weeks for your viewing and ordering session. At this time, we will watch a slideshow of your images and then select your most favourite images. I will guide you through the whole process from beginning to end.
